-MONDAY, FEBRUARY 7th
Deadline for receipt of slides, fees, and entry forms.

Notification made to all accepted artists.

-SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 27th OR MONDAY, FEBRUARY 28th
BETWEEN 7:00PM AND 9:00PM
Dates for artists to hand-deliver works to the Nth Gallery.

-FRIDAY, MARCH 4th
Exhibition opens. Reception and awards selection starting at 7:30pm.

-MONDAY, MARCH 21st
-BETWEEN 7:00PM AND 9:00PM
Date for artists to pick up works.

 

ELIGIBILITY
An all media competition open to all artists, over the age of 18, living in or around the Boone area.  The Nth Gallery continues its commitment of support for the efforts of up and coming artists by presenting its first Juried Exhibition 2005.  With this exhibition, the Nth Gallery makes available various cash and/or prize awards and exhibits the works of selected regional artists.

JURORS
(4) Four representatives of the local arts community will act as jurors.  One of the representatives will be a member of the Nth Gallery.

AWARDS
Cash and prize awards will be furnished by a number of local companies.  Merit awards will also be presented.  These awards will be made at the discretion of the jurors.

MEDIA AND SPECIFICATIONS
All media are acceptable. All works must have been completed in the last two years and not previously exhibited at the Nth Gallery. Works must arrive ready to hang or install.

SLIDES
Submit 35mm slides in standard mounts (no glass mounts).  Label as noted with artist’s name, title of work, entry number from entry form, dimensions (H x W x D), and TOP.  ALL SLIDES will be returned after the exhibit concludes IF a self-addressed, stamped envelope (SASE) is enclosed.  Allow a few weeks for the return of slides.  Slides, fees, and entry forms are due at the gallery by MONDAY, FEBRUARY 7th.

* Photographic prints no smaller than 5”x7” may be substituted for slides. Please write all pertinent information on the back of the print.  Prints will not be returned.

 

HANDLING FEE AND ENTRY FORM
Participants may enter up to (3) three works for a$10 FEE.  Make checks payable to THE NTH GALLERY.  Three-dimensional work may be represented by two slides (different views), these two will be counted for a single work.  Complete the entry forms and send with your appropriate fee and slides/prints to ARRIVE BY MONDAY, FEBRUARY 7th.

REPRODUCTION
The Nth Gallery reserves the right to reproduce accepted entries for the gallery’s web-site and publicity purposes.

WORKS ACCEPTED
Works chosen from the slides/prints by the jurors must be hand-delivered to the gallery on SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 27th or MONDAY, FEBRUARY 28th, between the hours of 7:00pm and 9:00pm only.  Each work should be labeled EXACTLY as it was listed on the entry card.  All works must have some type of title.  The entry card data will be used for labels and publicity purposes so please make sure this information is correct.  Prices or other details may not be changed.  No substitutions for accepted works or changes to the submitted entry card will be permitted.  Please reserve the works you enter and, if you price them for sale, when submitted they must be for sale at the exhibition.  Work may not be withdrawn before the close of the exhibition.  The jurors’ decisions are final.  All accepted artists will be notified by phone or e-mail.

SALES AND COMMISSIONS
The Nth Gallery encourages sales to the public and will charge a 20% commission on all work sold during the exhibition.  Be sure to price your work accordingly.

DELIVERY AND PICKUP OF WORKS
Hand-deliver (DO NOT SHIP) all works to The Nth Gallery, 683 W. King St., Boone, NC 28607 on SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 27th or MONDAY, FEBRUARY 28th, between the hours of 7:00pm and 9:00pm only.  Artists are responsible to pick up their works on MONDAY, MARCH 21st between the hours of 7:00pm and 9:00pm.  Any works not picked up at this time will become property of the Nth Gallery.

LIABILITY
The Nth Gallery and its members try to maintain a safe environment for displaying works. The gallery is locked during off-hours and members are present while the gallery is open to ensure works are protected. The Nth Gallery, and its members, cannot guarantee that works will be protected and are therefore not responsible for any damage, loss, or deterioration of a work.

AGREEMENT
Submitting an entry form to the exhibition constitutes an agreement on the part of the artist with all conditions in this prospectus.
