A Bad Candidate for Living:
A Collection of Works by Jamie S. Carroll
We don't toot our own horns much, but when one of our
gang gets a gig, we like to share the good cheer.
Nth Gallery studio member Jamie Carroll will be
the featured artist of a new exhibit at the Turchin
Center's Catwalk Gallery. Reception for the show will be Friday,
January 7 from 5-8 pm, and it's FREE.
Food and wine will be supplied by the Turchin Center,
and for your listening pleasure-TRAVIS REYES will be spinning some records.
Be there.
If you can't make
it to the opening, the exhibition will
run January 4-29, so there are no excuses. Check out the
art.
Jamie received his BFA in Studio Art, with concentrations
in painting, metals, and printmaking, from Appalachian
State University. As a visual storyteller, he uses
physical imagery, as well as text, to create a narrative
for the viewer to take part in. The focal point of Jamie's
work is the individual and his/her condition.
The Turchin Center is located at 423 West King Street,
in Boone. Hours are 10-6 on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday,
and Saturday, with special hours on Friday (12-8). Visit www.turchincenter.org for
more info.
